PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition)

FG GRUPPO S.P.A. owns a department in the Genta – Platit Division dedicated to the PVD coating process of mechanical components, molds and tools for chip removal in order to improve its performance, durability and aesthetic appearance where required.

We own 4 PVD coating plants based on cathode arc technology. Thanks to 3 Platit coating systems (Swiss technology) with 800 mm long and 600 mm diameter deposition chamber and a 2000 mm long and 700 mm diameter deposition chamber we are able to create high quality PVD coatings for a wide range of applications, especially for the tooling sector (broaches, knives, cutters, taps, dies and punches).

High hardness, wear resistance, low friction coefficient, thermal and chemical stability and excellent surface finish are just some of the peculiarities of the PVD coatings made. Their application allows to improve the performance of the tools, increase productivity and decrease the costs of machining.
